Job Summary:
Seeking a skilled Demolition Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team. Heavy Equipment Operators will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to demolition, recycling, and environmental projects. A valid NYS DOL Asbestos Certification is preferred but training can be provided for the right candidate.
Responsibilities:
· Operate heavy equipment including but not limited to: excavators, skid steers, wheel loaders, bulldozer, scissor lifts, and boom lifts.
· Proficient with full structural demolition of buildings.
· Proficient with interior selective demolition.
· Perform basic maintenance on equipment.
· Be familiar with safety protocols for large construction and demolition sites.
· Be comfortable working in teams.
· Ability to travel to and from jobs sites daily in vehicles provided by Contento's.
· Must be comfortable working in fast paced environments.
Qualifications:
· OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 (Preferred)
· Valid NYS DOL Asbestos Handler or Supervisor License (Preferred)
· Valid NYS Driver’s License, Class A or B CDL would be a bonus but not required.
· Strong knowledge of construction and demolition techniques and materials.
· Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
· Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
· Physical stamina to handle the demands of the job including lifting heavy objects and working various weather conditions.
· Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members.
